Each Awayke™ MD tablet contains Loratadine 10
mg.
Awayke™ MD tablets are to be used for relief
from symptoms of various types of allergies including
itchy eruptions, sneezing, running nose etc.
Awayke™ MD tablets are supplied in a blister
pack of 10 tablets.

How is it
beneficial?
In simple terms, allergy means an unpleasant reaction
of the body to a foreign substance (allergen).
Allergens trigger the release of chemical mediators,
the most important among which is histamine. Awayke MD
(Loratadine) works by blocking histamine that is
responsible for various allergic manifestations such
as sneezing, running nose and itchy eruptions on skin
(urticaria).
Major advantage of Awayke™ MD tablet is that it
is long acting (once daily dose), non-sedating
(generally cause little or no drowsiness) and less
likely to cause dry mouth, blurred vision, difficulty
in urination (urinary retention), constipation and
disturbed cardiac rhythm.
- When to use Awayke™
MD tablets?
Awayke™ MD are used to relieve various symptoms
of common cold and allergies including sneezing,
running nose, itchy, tearing eyes and itchy eruptions
on skin (urticaria).
Check before use : Before using Awayke™ MD, it is important to check the
following:

Kidney or Liver disease: If you have or have had
kidney or liver disease, dose of Loratadine may have
to be reduced. Consult your Doctor.

Pregnancy & Lactation: Safety of
Loratadine has not been clearly established during
pregnancy. Use of Loratadine is to be avoided during
lactation.

Children: Safety of Loratadine has not been
established in children under 2 years of age.
- Other
medications: If you are taking erythromycin,
ketoconazole, medications for asthma or colds,
medications for depression (MAO inhibitors),
sedatives and tranquilizers, consult your Doctor.
- How to use Awayke™
MD tablets?
- Adults and children
above 12 years of age: One tablet (Loratadine 10 mg)
daily.
- Children aged 2 to 12
years: Consult you doctor
- Children aged less
than 2 years: Not recommended
- Place the tablet on
the tongue, it disperses in few seconds. No water is
required while taking the tablet.
- Do not exceed the
recommended doses.
- Keep out of reach of
children.
- Keep the medicine in a
cool dry place, protect from light and moisture.
- Is it suitable for
you?
Awayke™ MD is usually well tolerated and the
side effects are mild. The side effects include
fatigue, headache, dry mouth, nose and throat,
drowsiness and sensitivity to sunlight. Rarely,
jaundice and hepatitis have been reported.
Consult your doctor immediately in case you experience
any of the following symptoms:
- rapid
heartbeat (palpitation)

dizziness

difficulty in urination
- vision
problems
- muscle
weakness

What to
do if you miss a dose of Awayke™ MD?
On missing the dose, take it as soon as you remember;
but if it is near the time for the next dose then skip
it and resume your usual dosing schedule. Never try to
double the dose to compensate for the one not taken.
