Carbuncle/ Deep Boils
Boil is inflammation of the hair follicle caused by a bacteria known as staphylococcus. It is most commonly located on scalp, neck, face or buttocks. It is painful, tender (painful on pressure) and may be associated with fever.
Carbuncle is circumscribed inflammation of multiple hair follicles caused by bacteria known as staphylococcus. It may end into formation of pus and slough. It is characterized by fever, pain and redness of skin and later on multiple openings, discharging pus may appear. The common site is back of neck, shoulder and hips.
