MANAGEMENT Treatment (Chikitsa)
Madhumeha patients can be divided into two groups:
- Obese (sthool)
- Weak, lean and thin (krish and durbal)
Partantra madhumeha patients are usually obese whereas Swatra madhumeha patients are usually weak, lean and thin. Sanshaman chikitsa (Palliative therapy) is the main stay therapy for Madhumeha. Sanshodhan chikitsa (purification/cleansing/detoxifying) can be administered along with Sanshaman chikitsa if the patient is obese. Drugs
