Introduction Food is the main source of energy and raw material for growth and development of the human body. Nutrition is the science of foods, the nutrients and other substances therein; their action, interaction and balance in relationship to health and disease. The daily requirement of food for an  individual depends upon growth status (age, sex, height and weight) and as human beings, we require a variety of nutrients for the growth and development of our body. However, one particular food item may not provide all the essential nutrients required by our body as it may be a rich source of one nutrient but may be deficient in another.
