CHICKEN POX VACCINE – SIDE EFFECTS

  • Mild reaction at the site: mild redness, stiffness and soreness; is usually transient.
  • Occasionally fever, headache, abnormal sensation &fatigue may occur.
  • About 7-8% of children develop a mild rash (eruptions < 10) as long as 3 weeks after the vaccination.
  • Although rare, an allergic reaction may occur.
