RABIES VACCINE – SIDE EFFECTS

  • Most common side effects include painrednessswellingand/or itching at the injection site.
  • Sometimes, headaches, nausea, abdominal pain and muscle aches.
  • Repeated booster doses has been linked to mild allergic reactions– hives, itching, swelling under the skin. It usually occurs within 14 days of receiving the vaccine.
  • Rarely severe allergic reactions.
  • No permanent reactions or deaths have been associated with use of cell culture vaccines.
