Panchakarma Therapy – Nasya

When medicines or medicated oils are administered through the nasal passage, it is termed as Nasya karma. Nasya karma is thechief procedure for diseases of head (shiro-rog). In Ayurveda, the nasal cavity is believed to be the opening of the head and  all drugs that are introduced through the nose disseminate throughout the head and thereby eliminate or pacifies all the Doshas and the diseases situated in these parts.

    • who has suppressed natural urges
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Trauma inflicted
  • Pregnant woman
  • Grief
  • Fever of recent origin
  • Children
  • Elderly people
  • Hemorrhage
  • In post birth period

Indication of properly done Nasya Karma

  • Lightness in the body
  • Sound sleep
  • Pacification of disease
  • Happy and contented mind
  • Proper functioning of sense organs
  • Lightness in the head
  • Purification of the body channels

What happens if Nasya karma is done in excess

Heaviness in head and improper functioning of the sense organs.
