FOOD GUIDE PYRAMID (FOR 2-6 YEARS OLD CHILDREN)
The Food Guide Pyramid is a guide to daily food choices. It emphasizes food from major food groups. It is flexible and realistic and meant for children 2 years and older.
The Food Groups are:
- Cereals i.e., Rice, Chappati (wheat), Porridge, Bread etc.
- Vegetable Group
- Fruits
- Dairy products: i.e. Milk, Cheese, Yogurt etc.
- Protein Group: i.e. Pulses, Beans, Nuts, Eggs and all the Non-Vegetarian foods
- Fats, Oils, and Sugars: Use Sparingly.
