Situated on the banks of the river Godavari, is a very holy place and one of the four places where the Kumbh Mela is held. It has close connection with the Ramayana - this was the place from where Ravana carried off Sita  and also  where Lakshman cut off the nose of Suepanakha, Ravana's sister. The Ram Kund area has several temples like the Sundara Narayana Temple, the Naro Shankara Mandir and the Kapaleshwara temple. Ram Kund is also called Asthi Vilaya Tirtha, which dissolves the bones dead fropped into it. There is a small cave called Sita Gumpha, from where Ravana is believed to have abducted Sita. At the Kala Rama temple, inside the cave the deities of Rama. Sita and Lakshman are made of jet black stone. The hinayana Buddhist rock-cut temple and monasteries called Pandava Lena Caves are located abut 10 kms from Nasik. They are like the Ajanta Cave temples.

Bhaktidham Temple

Infant Jesus Shrine

Bhaktidham Temple earlier known as Kailash Matt, is situated on Nashik Pet road. It is also a growing center for pilgrimage for the devotees comming to Nashik. Numerous religious discourses, poojas and discussions on vedas and religious books are taken place over here. Built in white color stone this has been in recent years an ideal place for vedic studies and research.

Infant Jesus Shrine is situated on Nashik Pune Highway. This type of icon of Infant Jesus is there in Yougaslavia church in throughout the world. Every year in the mont of Feb there is a fair held over here, which is attended by people of all religions from throughout the world. It is said that one's wishes when asked over here are fulfilled.

Someshwar

On the way to Gangapur dam, tourists are fascinated by the beautiful nature spot called "Someshwar". There is a temple of  Lord Shiva and Lord Hanuman on the banks of the river Godavari. The area is covered with greenery all over, with a pleasant climate. Tourists can take pleasure of swimming and boating in the river. Someshwar has been a favourite location for many a film shootings.

Takli 

Takli is the place of saint Samarth Ramdas. He was the Guru (teacher) of Chatrapati Shivaji. Ramdas  was a bramhachari (bachelor) all through his life. He promoted the Hindu religion and told people the importance of simple living and high thinking. Ramdas ran away from his marriage procession and  settled down at Takli. He meditated here for 12 years. There is also a beautiful Hanuman temple  surrounded with greenery on the bank of river Nandini or Nasardi. 

Bhagur  Ramesvara Temple

Bhagur is the birth place of the freedom fighter, Swatantrya Veer Savarkar and hence it has gained historical importance. There is also a beautiful temple of "Bhagur Devi". Bhagur is situated 3 km away from Deolali Camp.

The Ramesvara Temple (18th century) is where Rama is believed to have carried out the funeral rites for his father and to have bathed in the Rama kund nearby. It is a popular place to throw ashes of the dead into the river. 

Ramkund

Ramkund is a sacred tank, built in 1696. Chitrarao Khatarkar got it constructed 27mts. by 12 mts. The aborigines state that Lord Rama and his consort Sita used this tank for bathing during the years of exile. Hence, it is also very holy. There is a common belief that if the ashes are immersed in the holy waters of this kund, salvation or moksha is easily achieved.
