MANAGEMENT Treatment (Chikitsa)

Madhumeha patients can be divided into two groups:

  • Obese (sthool)
  • Weak, lean and thin (krish and durbal)

Partantra madhumeha patients are usually obese whereas Swatra madhumeha patients are  usually weak, lean and thin. Sanshaman chikitsa (Palliative therapy) is the main stay therapy for Madhumeha. Sanshodhan chikitsa (purification/cleansing/detoxifying) can be administered along with Sanshaman chikitsa if the patient is obese. Drugs

  • Rajat makshik
  • SarVataobhadra ras
  • Swarn makshik
  • Shilajit 

Herbs A number of herbs have been used for the management of Diabetes either as stand alone therapy or as an adjunct to modern allopathic medicines. The efficacy of a selected few of these herbs  have been proven scientifically.  Some of the herbs commonly used for Diabetes management are:
