EXERCISE AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
Exercise and physical activities go hand in hand with proper diet for the success of any weight loss programme. Moderate amount of physical activity reduces the risk of developing diseases and helps in maintaining good health. Exercise makes you look good, feel good and live longer. The key to making it a regular habit is to find an activity you enjoy.
Many of us find that our life is overloaded with commitments and finding time for exercises seems to be a difficult task. However, many people who started exercising have realized that the alertness and the efficiency that comes with regular exercises is so motivating that they cannot afford to stop exercising.
People who are used to a sedentary lifestyle should not start directly with strenuous exercises, instead they should begin generously with a walking programme slowly graduating to other form of aerobics like bicycle, treadmill and free hand aerobics. The goal is to exercise at least 20 minutes a day for a minimum of 3 – 5 days in a week.
